BBC Coverage for Thanet Earth Centre of Excellence @ Hadlow College
BBC South East visited our Centre of Excellence @ Hadlow College on the 9th December, following the news that our glasshouse there had donated 1 tonne of food to food charity FareShare (the equivalent of 2,250 meals).
In total, the Centre of Excellence has produced over 2 tonnes of tomatoes since June this year, using the latest technology in glasshouse growing.
The college students have stopped production for the Christmas break but their next crop is coming in January when, unaffected by the poor winter conditions, the college expects it to flourish once again.
