Giving Back: Thanet Earth’s Aspire Community Team Donates to Local Charities In 2024
The Thanet Earth Aspire Community Team, a group of dedicated colleagues from across the business, has been actively supporting local charities and organisations throughout 2024. With a mission to promote and amplify the work of community-driven initiatives, the team has made a lasting impact by providing financial sponsorship, produce donations, and hands-on support to those in need.
Operating under the guiding principle of “helping those who help others,” the Aspire Community Team focuses on fostering relationships with local charities and outreach projects to ensure their work can continue to thrive. Through monthly Community Champions initiatives, Thanet Earth has supported a wide range of causes, from youth sports teams to inclusive festivals, with the goal of investing back into the local community.
In 2024, the team has provided vital support to local charities and organisations, including youth football teams, schools, and community events like Festability, a local festival celebrating inclusivity. Other recipients include Margate U16’s, Angels 4 Dogs, Discovery Planet, Ramsgate, The Sunken Garden Society, Monkton Nature Reserve, Sands United, Ellington Park Café, Drapers Mills Primary School, and Porchlight, with whom Thanet Earth has formed an ongoing charity partnership.
In addition to financial contributions, Thanet Earth has facilitated weekly produce donations of premium British tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. In 2024, over 29 tonnes of produce has been donated directly to local charities such as the NHS, Pilgrim’s Hospices, and various food banks across the region, helping to feed vulnerable communities and provide fresh, healthy food to those in need. They also work closely with FareShare, a food redistribution charity.
“Our mission is simple: to support and strengthen our local community,” said Charlotte Cooke, Marketing and Communications Manager at Thanet Earth. “We are incredibly proud of the partnerships we’ve built on this year and are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to causes that have such a meaningful impact on local people’s lives.”
Looking ahead to 2025, the Aspire Community Team is committed to continuing its work and further expanding its outreach. The team will continue to collaborate with local organisations, ensuring that the positive impact of their efforts reaches even more people in the region.
